Crowley Among NFRA 2005 Golden Penguin Winners

Binghamton, N.Y., December 28, 2005 — Crowley was one of the select winners of the 2005 National Frozen and Refrigerated Food Association’s prestigious Golden Penguin Award. Crowley received the award in recognition of a June Dairy Month promotion with Harris Teeter, Inc., a food market chain that operates in the six-state area of North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida. NFRA presented the award on October 11, 2005 during the NFRA national convention held in San Francisco, Ca.

NFRA honored 23 Golden Penguin winners and 29 Silver Penguin winners from across the country in 15 different retail categories. Judges looked for the best creative effort through the use of in-store consumer programs, advertising, community service and education, creative use of merchandising materials and special displays. Crowley teamed up with Harris Teeter to drive dairy sales during the retail food market’s promotion “Harris Teeter Dairy … It’s Easy as 1, 2, 3.” The promotion resulted in a 45.9 percent increase in unit sales.
