FREQUENT QUESTIONS

Q: Does Crowley yogurt contain live active cultures?

A: All Crowley Yogurts are made with active yogurt cultures including L.acidolphilus and B.bifidus. Crowley Yogurt is an excellence source of calcium and a good source of protein as well. You'll find more information about our yogurts in our Product section.

Q: Where can I buy Crowley products?

A. Crowley products are available throughout the northeastern U.S. at supermarkets, convenience stores, and super centers. For a list of the stores where you will find Crowley brand dairy products in New York state and Pennsylvania, please go to Where to Buy.

Q: Milk has a lot of carbohydrates! Where do they come from?

A: Milk does have carbohydrates. Plain types of milk naturally have 12 grams of carbohydrates per serving. This comes from the naturally occurring milk sugar, lactase. Keep in mind, your body needs carbohydrates to run efficiently. In fact, glucose (which comes from the breakdown of carbohydrates) is the number one source of fuel for our brains.

Q: I am trying to incorporate more dairy foods, but I do not like milk. What can I do?

A: There are plenty of ways to get calcium into your body, and one of our favorite ways is having smoothies or yogurt everyday! Also, you can sneak in calcium by having milk on cereal. Keep trying milk. Overtime you could get used to it. In the meantime, here is a simple way to get calcium rich foods in three times a day: 1) Try Crowley Yogurt at lunchtime and make it part of your daily routine; 2) Have 1 oz (about the size of four dice) of Heluva Good Cheese with some crackers; 3) Try a smoothie for an after-dinner treat. See our Recipes page for several delicious smoothies you can make fresh at home.

Q: What is the difference between 1% and 2% milk?

A: The difference is the fat content. Crowley 1% Lowfat Milk has only three (3) grams of fat per serving, compared to Crowley 2% Reduced Fat Milk, which weighs in at about five (5) grams of fat per serving. Primarily the fat content is the only nutrient that changes with the different types of milk. If you are trying to limit your fat intake, try Crowley 1% Lowfat or Fat Free Milk.
