Weight Loss with Lowfat Dairy

Have you heard about the latest research that links lowfat dairy foods with weight loss? Good news for those of us who are watching our weight! More studies are confirming that getting the calcium and protein your body needs everyday from lowfat dairy products may help you meet your weight loss goals.

Here are a few highlights from studies on the dairy and weight loss relationship:

Women burned more fat and calories after a meal when their diets included 3-4 servings of lowfat dairy daily.

Crowley Lowfat Milk

Crowley Tip: Have a glass of Crowley Lowfat or Fat Free Milk at every meal; this is a sure way to meet your daily dairy needs!

Researchers found that there may be a correlation between the weight of children and teens and dairy consumption. The study found that teenage girls (ages 9 to 14) who consumed more milk and milk products weighed less than their fellow students who consumed little dairy. Even just one extra serving of dairy a day was associated with lower body fat!

Crowley Tip: Mix up a smoothie for an after-school snack as a quick means of getting extra calcium into your teenager’s day! Click here for our smoothie recipes.

Increased dairy consumption may protect overweight individuals from becoming obese or developing insulin resistance syndrome (also known as metabolic syndrome).

Crowley Tip: Make dairy part of your dinner plate by serving Crowley Nonfat Pineapple Cottage Cheese as a side dish; a great way to sneak in extra calcium!
